Benni McCarthy was shown the exit door by Cape Town City football club following a poor run of 2 wins in 11 games since the start of the 2019-2020 campaign.
It was confirmed on Twitter shortly after 12 a.m that the Bafana Bafana's all time scorer was no longer part of the team.
Benni McCarthy has won the MTN 8 since arriving on 2018. Things were smooth sailing in the opening season of his managerial career.
Assistant coach Vasili Manousakis will be the driver of the team as a caretaker until the find a suitable replacement.
Benni was to be sacked on the 25th of October when they lost 1-0 to Maritzburg United in the Absa Premeirship match and currently 13th on the log with 8 points two steps above the relegation zone.
It seems as though Benni and the teams management/executives had a disagreement which led to the sacking at midnight.
