Wednesday morning was a nightmare for the foreign nationals in Cape Town after police attacked and detained some of those who responded by fighting back.
It is believed that the police came in the early hours and used water cannons, shooting stand grenades and rubber bullets to the crowd in Green Market Square.
Other foreign nationals claim that they have legal documents to stay in South Africa and others claiming to have had enough of this country and they would appreciate the United Nation (UN) to help them go back home.
The war has been an ongoing battle for several months in the city and across South Africa while most of them were making a living in the streets camping anywhere possible to sustain themselves.
Many have sustained minor injuries and there is a lady who collapsed due to the pressure and police brutality. Paramedics responded to the lady and she is under medical care. Others were put behind the police vans and trucks.
There are two foreign children aged 4 and 12 who are reportedly missing after the crowd was isolated while fleeing from the attacks.
An unnamed foreign national reporting to eNCA said "This is a bad experience for the children and women who are defenseless. I have been in South Africa for years and I have children this side. The police just came and shoot us for no reason".
Some South African citizens are sympathetic with the people who are mistreated by the police especially women and children.
