Load shedding expected but not this week - Eskom

Eskom has warned South Africans that there is a possible load shedding as it is still vulnerable and unpredictable following their meeting held on Sunday.

The power utility issued a warning on Monday morning in which they do not plan to launch the load shedding this week but urge consumers to maintain the usage of power.

“Eskom can confirm that while the objective is not to implement load shedding, the generating plant performances continue to be unpredictable.

“Eskom wishes to remind customers that any unexpected shift, such as additional unplanned breakdowns or the unavailability of diesel for open-cycle gas turbines or water levels at pumped storage schemes, could result in load-shedding at short notice,” read a statement from the power utility on Monday.

While we are facing a possible power outage, already some informal settlements have been cut off due to illegal connections and unpaid fees.
