Veteran radio and television presenter Xolani Gwala has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

South Africa woke up to devastating news which was confirmed by his family on Radio 702 on Friday morning.

Born in Impendle township, in the heart of Pietermaritzburg, Xolani was diagnosed with colon cancer late 2017 and it was already on an advanced stage upon discovery.

People poured their hearts out on social to honor the great broadcaster South Africa ever witnessed.
